Privacy & cookie notice.
How we handle what you send us through this website, under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Southern Africa Safety and Security Solutions (Pty) Ltd, trading as S.A.S Solutions. Registration 2011/126687/07. PSIRA 2175873. The Meadows Estate, Timbavati Street, Moreleta Park, Pretoria.
What we collect, and why
If you use the enquiry form we collect the name you give us, the email address or phone number you give us, and what you write in the enquiry itself. We use it for one purpose: to answer you and, if it goes further, to quote for the work. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing you have not asked for.
Our server also records the IP address a submission came from. That is there to stop the form being used to send bulk spam, and for nothing else.
The security question on the form
The enquiry form asks you to answer a small sum. It is there to tell a person from an automated script. It sets no cookie, it does not profile you, and nothing about your answer is kept once your enquiry is sent.
The acknowledgement email
If you leave an email address, our server sends you an automatic confirmation that we have your enquiry. It is a single message. There is no mailing list to unsubscribe from, because we do not run one.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no tracking of you between sites.
The one exception is the map on the contact section. It is a Google Maps embed, and Google sets its own cookies when it loads. That is why the map does not load until you press the button and accept — and why the notice asks first. If you reject, the map simply never loads. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie choices in the footer of any page.
Your choice itself is stored in your own browser using local storage rather than a cookie. It never reaches our server.
Who else sees your information
Enquiries arrive at our own mailbox at the address on this site. TO CONFIRM: whether enquiries are ever passed to a subcontractor or associate, and if so, which.
How long we keep it
TO CONFIRM: the retention period for enquiries that do not become work, and for those that do.
Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You may also object to our holding it. Write to the Information Officer below and we will respond.
If you are not satisfied with how we have dealt with your request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Information Officer
TO CONFIRM: the name and email address of the registered Information Officer. POPIA requires one to be appointed and registered with the Information Regulator.
